THE SURFACE / THE FINISH

Privacy designed into the room.

Glass can divide a room without closing it off. A privacy or decorative film plan considers who needs a view, what should be obscured and how the glazing fits the wider interior.

Start with the exact effect rather than the word privacy alone. Frosted, opaque and reflective approaches behave differently. Review samples from both sides of the glass and in the room’s daytime and evening lighting.

EXPLORE THE APPLICATION

Three areas to consider.

Define the view. Keep the space connected.

01

Meeting rooms

Map seated sightlines and privacy needs, then agree full, partial or patterned coverage on the partition.

02

Home interiors

Consider glazing near bathrooms, entrances or neighbouring views while reviewing the light the room needs.

03

Decorative details

Discuss bands, cut shapes or graphic directions and confirm what is available for the selected film and fitting process.

A PLAN BEFORE APPLICATION

Bring the details
into focus.

Prepare the project, compare the selected film and agree the fitting details.

  1. 01

    Map the sightlines

Send photos and identify which views should remain open and which areas need obscuring.

  2. 02

    Choose an effect

Review the actual film sample, coverage height and the appearance from both sides of the glass.

  3. 03

    Agree the layout

Confirm dimensions, pattern alignment, edge details and cleaning guidance before installation.

YOUR HOME & OFFICE QUESTIONS

A little clarity
before you choose.

Useful answers, from the surface to the selected film.

Does reflective film give privacy at night?

Reflective privacy depends on lighting on both sides of the glass. A brightly lit interior at night can change the result. Discuss evening privacy separately from daytime appearance.

Can I cover only part of a glass partition?

A partial-height, banded or patterned layout may suit the room. Agree the precise dimensions, sightlines and available film effects with the installer.

Will a frosted effect keep daylight?

Different films transmit and diffuse light differently. Review a sample and the selected product’s data in the room before agreeing the effect.

Can decorative film carry a company design?

Share the artwork, dimensions and intended location. CARBINS can discuss the selected film and available cutting or fitting options before a design is confirmed.
